| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims at providing a new insight into intellectual capital (IC) classification by theoretically and empirically differentiating relations-based knowledge into social capital (here as: s-cap.) and relational capital (as: r-cap). In addition, taking into account the ... "knowledge-based economy", it is also sought to empirically explore the possible effect of both relations-based IC components on the development of this kind of innovation by firms. Based on data from questionnaire responses of approximately 250 Spanish high and medium-high tech firms, and using exploratory factor analysis and regression analysis, relations-based IC can be separated into s-cap. and r-cap., with s-cap. as the main component. Both elements have a notably positive influence on radical innovation developed by firms of the sample etc. |
