Tiivistelmä:Skill-based pay means paying for the skills people have,rather than for the jobs they do. It allows organizations to vary compensation according to individual performance. It uses competency measures but requires merely some test of skill acquisition. Individuals are paid for the number,kind and depth of skills that they develop. These skills may be horizontal,depth,or vertical skills. Advantages of skill-based pay,the possibilities of its future are discussed.
