Tiivistelmä:Progressive companies allow their employees such as programmers to work at home at a remote PC or terminal as an alternative to commuting to the office. This, however, can leave a company open to additional liabilities but the biggest risks can be eliminated with a few easy measures. Liabilities should cover, e.g., the likelihood of a bodily injury or property damage while working at home. Company equipment like portable computers is more likely to be damaged than equipment installed permanently. Other risks involved are software piracy but it can occur at the office, too. Injuries to third parties should also be considered. Most of the problems outlined can be mitigated by effective management practices and advance planning.
