Tiivistelmä: | Despite the difficulties of starting up and staying in business, many observers feel that companies started by former corporate executives, or even employees, have a good chance at success. Reports of high rate of business failure are greatly exaggerated. The real failure rate may be estimated at only 5 or 6 percent a year. Of course, new entrepreneurs need lots of advice. Suddenly they are dealing with book-keeping, accounting, legal matters, marketing, sales and other business essentials to which corporations devote entire divisions. The biggest challenge is to learn to manage cash flow. A lot of examples are used for illustration. The problems with franchises are examined in detail. The characteristics of venture capitalists are highlighted. |
