| Tiivistelmä: | Scenario analysis is applied to the energy policy for freight transport. Rather than select a single future, it is proposed to examine a range of prospective futures or scenarios. The taken approach is to use prospective path analysis. The demand projection for freight is derived from the economic process of production and consumption. The demand in each sector will be affected by intermodal transfers, modal efficiency and energy consumption rates. An estimate of fuel usage for a demand and supply scenario can be obtained by solving a linear programming model of the freight-energy system. |
