Tiivistelmä: | Based on an intensive study of technology in services a lot of important conclusions are drawn. New service technologies dictate substantive changes in strategic structures and strategic thinking. These include defining each value-creation activity as a service; analyzing each service activity to determine whether the company can become the best in the world at it; eliminating, outsourcing, or joint venturing the activity to achieve "best in world" status when this is impossible internally. Managers must recognize that not achieving a strong enough competitive performance in each critical service activity will relegate the company to an inevitable loss of strategic advantage, lower profitability and therefore a higher risk of takeover. |
