| Tiivistelmä: | The problem discussed by the article is how to select the best forecasting method or the best combination of them if several methods are available. Goodness of fit measures are used for rating individual methods. Combination of methods gives generally better results than individual ones but the problem is which methods to include and with what weight. A special weighting method, the Odds Matrix method is presented. AUTOPROG, a fully automated method of computing the best composite forecast is expounded. |
