| Tiivistelmä: | Logistics management is a growing service industry. The growth of Export Packaging Services Ltd is described. In the 1980s it has become one of the largest packaging businesses in the United Kingdom. Three key policies in the company's development are its emphasis on quality, customer service and good employee relations. The company became to a greater extent involved in large items such as those used in the defence and aerospace areas. The success strategy also involved broadening the service base in terms of market and type, providing a more comprehensive range of services and increasing the scope of the location of those services. The role of an advanced information technology is emphasized. The next challenge: how to sustain the growth. |
