| Tiivistelmä: | Deviating from marginal cost is a common practice in oil products pricing. Israeli pricing sets deviations according to the price relationships of an exogenous selected market. In this article this solution is compared to the solution that takes into consideration efficiency and income distribution respects. Through welfare index calculations and comparative statics exercises it is shown that welfare can be affected by exogenous developments from the point of view of the local market. The implications of the model are quantified for a specific pricing item of the Israeli system, "the support to the contract sector". |
