| Tiivistelmä: | The simulation modelling, analysis and design of an automated guided-vehicle system in a hospital are described. It is proposed to install the transportation of large quantities of materials in the hospital by the system for horizontal transportation combined with the automatic vertical transportation of containers. The simulation study of the system has the following goals: determination of the required minimum number of vehicles needed for correct fulfilment of the transportation schedule, determination of the placement and size of vehicle storage spaces in a transportation network, analysis of queuing situation in the system and elimination of possible bottlenecks, determination of the transportation schedule. |
