Tiivistelmä:There is a lack of interdependence between company performance and the level of stock holdings by top management. The conclusion that stock ownership by top level officers and directors of major American corporations in their own companies has no bearing on their performance rests on strong empirical evidence. Thus the theory that managers' performance is dependent on stock ownership in the companies they manage does not hold water. The qualities needed to lead the business organization have little to do with the talent to amass and manage a huge personal fortune. Business leaders find greater gratification in pursuits like pay, perks, power, and prestige etc.
