| Tiivistelmä: | Organization and regulation characteristics of international telecommunication by satellites are investigated. The organization of spatial infrastructure is examined. A distinction is made between the network organization of telecommunication (its infrastructure and services) and its functions (transmission, routing, processing). The problem of concurrent systems existing in the international arena is analyzed. The impact of technological progress on the market structure is considered. Emergence of new services, new users, price reduction is highlighted. It is shown how natural and infrastructural monopolistic positions influence the systems development. |
