Tiivistelmä: | Resource allocation problems are concerned with the allocation of limited resources among competing activities so as to optimize some objective. In the resource allocation model considered here certain substitutions among resources are feasible. The substitutional relations are formulated using tree structures, where a node can substitute for all its descendants. The objective is to minimize the maximum weighted relative deviation of the activity levels from given demands. The presented formulation of this problem involves a large number of possible resource constraints. An efficient minimax algorithm is developed that is based on an iterative solution of relaxed problems. |
