| Tiivistelmä: | This paper examines interview and questionnaire based data on changing management practices in UK financial services organizations. Amongst the most important of these changes is a transformation of the established, highly bureaucratic administrative control that has long characterized the industry, engendering new forms of control based upon the twin ideals of empowerment and hightened accountability. Managers and staff alike are expected to become "multiskilled" to facilitate organizational flexibility in the pursuit of "quality". |
