| Tiivistelmä: | In designing a cellular manufacturing system, cell formation refers to the activities dealing with the identification of part families and machine groups and the evaluation of the associated cell properties. Although a generic framework with respect to the hierarchy or sequence of design activities is difficult to formulate, formation of cells should initiate the design process. This paper presents a shop structure generator that can produce a large set of shop information while allowing the user the freedom to specify various input parameters. |
