Tiivistelmä:The chief executive officer (CEO) is widely regarded as the most powerful organizational member in the modern corporation. Attributions regarding the potential effect of a strong CEO on firm financial performance are common. However, this anticipated direction of the influence is not uniformly established. This paper relies on a four-wave panel design to assess the nature of the relationship between CEO power and firm performance. The results of the analysis demonstrate that aspects of CEO power and financial performance are interrelated. Performance was both outcome and antecedent condition of CEO power.
