Tiivistelmä: | New product development is necessary but risky business. There is a high rate of failure. The main phases of the product development. The most important failure factors: 1/ the lack of top management support, 2/ underestimation of costs, 3/ improper marketing, 3/ bad timing etc. The most important success factors: 1/ consumer needs are faster, better and less expensive met, 2/ habits in consumption are taken into account, 3/ there is an easy way to learn the practical application of the new product etc. Neither the success, nor the failure has only one key factor. The partial factors are connected with existing or lacking properties of the new product. Problems can be foretold by market research. Systematic planning is indispensable. |
