Variants of counter-trading (barter deals, counter-purchases, buy-backs, switch traders, offset deals, compensation trading) are reviewed. Benefits to companies as well as to countries are summarized. Disadvantages are listed too. Several guidelines for prospective counter-traders are formulated. |
