| Tiivistelmä: | Owing to the growing number of opinion polls in France, polls are beginning to be seen as 'barometers' rather than as 'forecasts'. The variety of polls carried out by French pollsters is described. The presidential election saw the introduction of voting intention polls by telephone, and of a new innovation, the Presidoscope. The officially-constituted Committee of Control found no serious errors in opinion polling procedures during the election. |
