Tiivistelmä:The author argues that a main feature of services as opposed to goods is the so-called simultaneity, i. e. interaction between producer and consumer. An import cost indicator of services is what he calls simultaneity factor, the share of costs of the service incurred during interaction between producer and user. Tradeability of services depends on the simultaneity factor. The simultaneity factor may be used when applying the Heckscher-Ohlin theorem to services, when highlighting the problems of the GATT Uruguay Round etc.
