| Tiivistelmä: | China began to introduce chain business in the mid-1980s. But at that time, there were a limited number of enterprises practising chain business. It is only in recent three or four years that the chain business has developed actually. According to preliminary rough calculation, by the end of 1995, there were more than 400 enterprises practising chain business with 6000 various kinds of shops. Their annual sales volume reached 8 billion yuan, accounting for 5 per thousand or so of that year's retail sales of social consumption goods. |
