| Tiivistelmä: | During the 1980's increases in foreign direct investment in the United States and USA trade and investment in the Pacific Rim were significant. Extensive evidence has been generated on foreign investment patterns in the USA, but few studies have researched the regional location and trade behaviour of American and foreign-owned high technology organizations. A survey of the high technology establishment population in Washington State was conducted using the Total Design Method for mail questionnaires. Survey findings are presented. Previous literature is reviewed. Respondent establishment characteristics are outlined. Leading location reasons and factors by establishment type are traced. |
