| Tiivistelmä: | Swiss constitution contains no directive to be followed on European integration but basic aims and priorities can be extracted from a popular initiative in 1990. These are: to contribute to the promotion of peace and the protection of the environment and to preserve and strengthen democracy. Universal principles such as human rights and the "rule of law" should interact with "internal values" such as preservation of democracy and a federally structured system. |
