| Tiivistelmä: | From the first to the third quarter, 1998, the city's accumulated GDP was 89.462 billion yuan, up by 14.3% over the same period of last year. The value-added of industry was 35.262 billion yuan, up 15.6%. The city's total industrial output value rose by 18.6% and the contribution rate of industrial growth to the city's economic growth reached as high as 51.5%. The city's accumulated investment in fixed assets amounted to 27.927 billion yuan, which were mainly put in the tertiary industry and housing development. By the end of Sept. the savings balance of the city's financial institutions totalled 215.289 billion yuan. Stable growth and development were seen in and price continued to go downward. According to forecast, the city's target of 14% economic growth for this year will possibly be reached. |
