| Tiivistelmä: | The 1998's devastating flood in the Yangtze River basin is both the evil consequences of accumulated ecological damage and the important sign of ecological crisis. The contradiction of ecological economy has become the principal contradiction which affects the existence and development of the Yangtze River basin. The train of thought on the sustainable development in the basin is as follows: 1. Overcoming ecological crisis and permanently controlling flood must be taken as the basic objective and strategic key point in the economic development of the basin. 2.Top priority must be given to strengthening the development of ecological economy. 3. A sustainable development model featuring the unification of system, technological and ecological innovation must be established. |
