| Tiivistelmä: | In a global supply chain, managers must plan for longer lead times, expendive air freight, higher inventory levels, poor sales forecasting accuracy, and significant delays in resolving technical problems. However, the reduction of defect and engineering change orders associated with lean production can stabilize the supply chain. CCT, a personal computer manufacturer, was trying to implement some aspects of lean production, and its international operations offered the opportunity to compare domestic and international sourcing. |
