Tiivistelmä:Difficulties in intentionally changing organizational culture are listed and examined. The lessons from the many disappointments of rational planning and interventions are summarized. Some cases of direct control and the underlying authoritarian values are mentioned. It is shown that changing values is a prerequisite to changing cultures. Values' inherent resistance to investigation and alteration is discussed. A variety of possible methods of changing the values , attitudes, and assumptions is overviewed. The need of a comprehensive theory of cultural change is emphasized. Some moral implications and unavoidable responsibilities for the process by which values are relinguished and replaced are highlighted.
