| Tiivistelmä: | Capitalists have discovered China as a promising field of business activity. The growth of China's market is the fastest throughout the world. A sample of economic indicators is presented /e.g. GDP - 800 billion DEM, growth rate 12.8%, foreign direct investments 58.7 billion USD/. The goal is evidently to make China an economic world power in the form of a socialist market economy. The most important investors so far have come from Hongkong and Taiwan, but many other countries are making efforts to increase their shares. The factors that make the process of economic reform irreversible are investigated. Some facts of unequal regional distribution of the invested capital are presented. The role of Sanghai as a financial center is demonstrated and some new reform steps are highlighted. |
