| Tiivistelmä: | If the Euro becomes a reality, its introduction would be considered as one of the most significant events of the 20th century. This is because most people equate currencies with national sovereignities, and deem both sacrosanct; hence they cannot comprehend why EU nations would want to sacrifice them. In this paper the author considers why the EU nations want the Euro, describes how it will come about, and prognosticates on its significance. Euro is part of EMU (economic and monetary union). |
