| Tiivistelmä: | Plato had the subtlety of treating the sign with sufficient diversity to match its complexity. As to language, we are assured that it is the product of an institution: language displays a nature sufficiently determined to justify a comparison with semiology. The paper considers the elements of Plato's position in order to question its coherence. |
