| Tiivistelmä: | In Russia, management education has been evolving at rapid pace to facilitate economic reform toward a more market-oriented economy. A wide variety of programs and pedagogical techniques for Russian managers have been offered over the past several years by Russian and Western management specialists. The first part of the article assesses the effectiveness of some of these management education efforts and discusses the experiences of a number of institutions in designing programs and experimenting with pedagogical techniques. This is followed by a description of changes in Russian management education in the late 1990s. Next, key issues that emerged in American management education during the 1980s and 1990s are presented and related to emerging trends in Russia's management education programs. Traditionally, there are a number of strengths that are associated with Russian managers. These are discussed as resources that can be drawn upon as management education evolves in Russia. |
