Tiivistelmä:This paper assesses the key elements of the dominant English-language business ethics textbooks, identifying the domain (hereafter as: d.) as reflected by those publications as 'where the law ends' and 'beyond the legal minimum'. Potential gaps and new areas for the discipline are identified by drawing on four main aspects: 1. the d. requires extensions dependent on the particular geographic region, 2. the impact of recent scandals, 3. the impact of globalization and its result on growing corporate involvement in regulatory processes, 4. business ethics reaches beyond the traditional constituencies of 'economic stakeholders'. It is concluded by suggesting that a reconsideration of the d., especially in Europe, is timely, but that represents a major challenge to business ethics educators.
