| Tiivistelmä: | This study deals with the post-acquisition financial characteristics of privately held companies involved in 143 Belgian acquisitions btw. 1992 and 1994, examining spesifically the financial performance of the acquiring firm after the acquisition (here as: acqs./acqss.) based on statistical analysis of industry-adjusted variables. The findings show that after the acqs., the profitability, the solvency and the liquidity of most of the combined companies decline. As to the added value, acqss. are found to be accompanied by increases in the labour productivity etc. |
