Tiivistelmä:While competition becomes stronger in West Germany, German banks are spreading their wings abroad. Competition in Germany is especially tough on the capital markets. German banks are very strong in industry and beginners in venture capital. Although some scandal occurred here, the main problem is the D-Mark rise, which blunts the German export drive. German banks are eying on Italy and France. As far as they have been allowed by the Japanese authorities, the main German banks have also settled down in Tokyo.
