Tiivistelmä: | Formalization has been perceived frequently as an empty concept. In reality it serves as a code, as its rules signify behaviors, as channel, and as standard of distributive justice. Its role differs depending on organizational life cycles. From the entrepreneurial to the control stage it contributes to administrative efficiency. At the elaboration of structure it can contribute to decline through entrenchment of decision premises and through the tendency in which compliance becomes performance. However, these effects can be managed and formalization can help in leading to renewal stage. |
