| Tiivistelmä: | The main classification theories for production systems are too macro-economic and thus unable to take into account the details of industrial organizations. On the basis of a number of investigations and field observations an original means of classification is recommended, based on two fundamental aspects: complexity and uncertainty. According to this approach are established the classes of systems distinguishing e.g. between production by orders and catalogue, assembling of complex and simple products etc. The conceptual framework allows for specifying the various types of situations occurring in the companies in relation to the concept and the utilization of industrial production systems. |
