| Tiivistelmä: | A depot-warehouse system is shown in which demand occurs at the warehouse or retail level. Both high correlations between successive monthly demands and correlations between demands for an item at different locations in a given time period are observed. An explicit expression is derived for the optimal safety stock as a function of the level of correlation through time. The analysis requires two assumptions: the allocation assumption and the equal coefficient of variation assumption. |
