| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of this paper is to examine new directions in design. These new directions often challenge conventional postulates of design and production industries and generate artefacts that have a conceptual nature. This article offers a general picture of the new directions in design and considers their potential for broadening the sphere of product design. Criteria related to design for sustainability is also discussed. |
