| Tiivistelmä: | This article examines the concept of self-interest. With a multi-disciplinary perspective, it discusses and critiques diverse explications of this phenomenon. It is presented that self-interest is an significant human motive. Nevertheless it also brought forth that other human motives, such as empathy towards others and adherence to moral duty, exist. |
