| Tiivistelmä: | The authors use rational decision theory to formulate a model of motivation in a managerial context. The model behaves reasonably well in empirical tests, but not better than a directly-assessed measure of motivation. Nevertheless, the new model may yield diagnostic insights to the management control system. This is illustrated by an analysis of the variations in the strength of motivating factors. |
