| Tiivistelmä: | Eastern Germany's economic capacity depends essentially on the volume and structure of its capital stock since a qualified working population is already in place. In order to close the gap between domestic demand and domestic product, and taking into consideration existing wage levels and future wage adjustments, the role of capital stock becomes decisive. In order to assess the progress of the east German economy in the transformation process, the development of fixed assets, as well as their attained levels, must be analysed. |
