Tiivistelmä:This empirical study examines the relationship between new employee development (NED) practices, role stressors and employee work-related attitudes in temporary work using data from 1 261 temporary employees across the United States. The following relations were found: i) NED practices were negatively related to role ambiguity and role conflict, ii) role stressors were positively related to intention to quit and negatively related to job satisfaction and organizational commitment and iii) role ambiguity and role conflict partially mediated the relationship between NED practices and temporary employee work-related attitudes. These relationships were found to exist for both the client organization and the temporary agency.
