| Tiivistelmä: | This paper emphasizes the influence of non-economic factors on tourism demand. It has been suggested by some researchers that tourists from different origins have various cultural and nationalistic backgrounds, thus possibly interpreting visual imagery and experiences differently. According to this suggestion, the study explores different underlying factors of tourism demand from four continents, that is, from Asia, the Americas, Europe and Oceania. Based on statistical data gathered from international organizations and 135 countries, there is shown to be differences and similarities among the factors in determining the tourism demand. |
