| Tiivistelmä: | This is an editorial to the special issue that concentrates on land use change models. The issue demonstrates four developments that may lead to improved human-environmental impact assessments. First, the system properties are analysed in a biophysical and socio-economic context at multiple scales. Second, integrated assessment models are connected to spatially explicit land use change models. Third, the effects of land use change in trade-off curves are examined. Finally, the decision making process is modelled using agent-based modelling. |
