| Tiivistelmä: | This article focuses on the biggest mega sport event in the world, namely, the Olympic games. It analyses the relationship between sport and tourism first in general and then by means of historical overview and the economic impact of the Olympic games. The findings of this study indicate that sport and tourism in general and the Olympic games in specific have developed into major economics sectors. In most cases Olympic cities boomed in tourism and became famous resorts. |
