| Tiivistelmä: | This paper uses firm-level based TFP indicators to measure the effects of alternative sources of dynamic externalities at the local level. It is found that industrial specialization and scale indicators affect TFP growth positively, whereas neither product variety nor the degree of local competition have any effect. It is also argued that employment-based regressions, that show nearly opposite results, suffer from serious identification problems when interpreted as evidence of dynamic externalities. |
