| Tiivistelmä: | The author presents information on a study of youth unemployment in Germany and Great Britain. The paper considers trends in European Union countries, unemployment rates by age in Great Britain. The author also pays a great attention to the youth unemployment rates by gender and education in Germany in 1995.The first part of this article introduces the comparison based on tabulated data provided by the Statistical Office for the European Communities (Eurostat) with the view to enabling comparative labor market research at an international level. The second part of this paper uses microdata from Germany and UK to investigate individual risk factors in greater detail, in order to reveal the structural differences between the two countries. |
