Tiivistelmä:1990 was a successful year in VCR sales while there was a decline in the turnover of video cassettes renting. At the same time over 10 000 titles were offered for sale and about two-thirds of them were not shown in movie earlier. Remarkable changes took place also in the former GDR. Finally the author examines the role of video among the media.
