| Tiivistelmä: | The index of retail prices or that of residents' consumer prices used in China at present can not reflect comprehensively the degree of inflation. The degree of inflation may be expressed as: the index of inflation = the index of money in circulation / the index of the circulation of commodity and labour service. In its operation, the index of money in circulation and the index of the circulation of commodity and labour service can be replaced by the index of money supply and the GDP (or GNP) index respectively. When I>1, I-1 is the inflation rate; When I=1, there exist no inflation; When I<1, I-1 is the tightening rate. The key to curbing inflation is that the growth of money supply can not surpass the growth of national economy too greatly. |
