| Tiivistelmä: | The first purpose of this paper is to show that several unresolved issues still characterize the theory of monetary institutions, and the second to show that a model can be built that is capable of explaining the role of monetary arrangements and institutions in a way that is coherent with important stylized facts across countries and that avoids the problems that rise in the representative agent literature. |
